Dear firstborn of mine and I are having some random conversation. I forget what it was about but while talking I told him "To a mother, her son will always be a baby, even when he is an adult."
Ads said "You mean I will always be your baby?"
I said "Of course!"
Ads said "Only till you are alive, no?"
Note to dear son: I'm happy that you understand at this tender age that all flesh is as dust, but I do wish you wouldn't be quite so casual at the prospect of my eventual death.
LOLOL Aparna...how kids can leave you speechless..:-)
ReplyDeleteHa ha! Atleast he is not waiting for you to die to get hold of your stuff. Daughter has asked me if she get all my jewellery when I die :(
ReplyDeleteOMG Aparna, that was just too much.. I have no words :O
ReplyDeleteawww poor baby ads!
ReplyDeletereminded me of this conversation with a 5 yr old neighbor of mine - the kid was telling us how he will move out to another house when he gets married and will keep the keys of this house with him - so dad asked him - where will your parents go - he very candidly replied - "bhagwaan ke paas"!
rofl!
I have heard things similar to this from my kids as well. I don't remember talking like this with our parents. Sometimes i wonder, if this generation is much informed or they just want to prove a point.
ReplyDeletehey, looks like Y's b'day is round the corner..when's it? you busy in preparations?
ReplyDeleteHi Uma, yes it is Y's 3rd birthday on Nov 5 (saturday). I am having a small party at home with the kids from the complex and their moms. I'll do a post on that after it's over :)
ReplyDeleteKind of funny - that he was so matter of fact. KB here cried with tears when I told him when he was four that when he is older and working and has kids he will be in a different house and mom and dad will be in their house...I should have recorded that conversation and played it to him in my old age! :)
ReplyDelete@Noon: So sweet. I can understand his distress. You shd have recorded it :)
